The most important preventative maintenance is to protect the end grain on the log post top. As with all of Nortek’s copper log post caps, they are handmade one at a time per order to fit your needs and will stand the test of time. By introducing any style of copper log post cap to your deck or dock, you are insuring years, and generations of maintenance free enjoyment. To Measure for Post Caps, be sure to measure all your log posts to achieve a nice fit. Take the widest diameter across the top of your deck or dock post, caps are made in 1/4" increments, if your measurement falls in between sizes, it is up to you if you want to round up or down on the quarter inch. For a snugger fit you may need to remove a small amount of material from your post either by sanding or grinding with an angle head grinder and a rough grit of sand paper (60) grit. If you round up on the size your caps may be a little loose which can be cured with our sizing tape in our accessories section . Applying a little clear caulk is also a nice finishing touch for those gaps between the log and post cap. * Due to the custom nature of our product line there are "No Returns" So be sure to measure your log diameter's twice and we'll cut the copper once. Attaching your deck post caps - the Sedona copper log end cap comes standard with three small holes and copper plated tacks for installing. We also recommend using a good exterior adhesive such as our 3M 550FC Sealant available in our accessories section, when your copper post caps have been fitted and you are ready to install them. Anti Theft / Tamper resistant screws are also available in the accessories section, as well as the #14 Spanner Bits used on your power screw driver for installing them For Larger Sizes call for a custom quote: 1-715-324- 5748 We can also custom make Log end caps, purlin cover or beam cover / end caps to protect your exposed structural logs.
